HIVE’s writing series is back in full swing! For the first class of this three-class series, writer Heather Hasselle will guide us through reading and discussing selected works of short fiction (from traditional to experimental). Our focus will be on scene and voice, as we discover what most engages and inspires us as readers and writers. Join us as we learn to inject vitality into the written page, expand our library of short stories, and explore what makes fiction "work." $5 suggested donation.
Heather Hasselle is writer, teacher and performer from Mississippi (living in Austin, TX). She has attended several writing workshops including the Iowa's Summer Writers' Workshop, Zoetrope All-story, and Tin House Summer Writers' Workshop. She is an assistant editor at American Short Fiction and teaches creative writing to kids and teens through Badgerdog Literary Publishing and Austin Bat Cave.
