Intro To Woodblock Printing

  • White Light Studios 900 Vargas Road Austin, TX, 78741 United States (map)

Learn how to create your own woodblock print!

Woodcut printing is the earliest known form of printing, with prints in the Diamond Sutra dating to 868 AD. Connect with the beautiful potential of this classic art form in this beginner level workshop. The technique of woodcut is approached as meditative movement study, inviting participants to a state of harmony between the mind's intent and the body's careful execution.  Participants will be lead through a series of exercises exploring all steps in the process. By the end of this workshop participants will come away with their own original woodblock prints and understand methods easily replicated in a home or personal studio! All supplies provided.
