The students will explore the history and evolution of experimental film and are encouraged to navigate the images in their minds to create their own individual works. This course is dedicated to the appreciation of film as an art form and a medium of expression.
Students will learn how to use and shoot on Super 8mm cameras, how to hand process their Super 8 film stock and a variety of editing techniques including digital editing with Final Cut Pro or hand editing to product their individual film. Their films will be featured in a screening at the completion of the course. No previous experience in film required. Open to all ages
The $30 tuition fee cover 15hrs of class time plus 2 rolls of Kodak Tri-X b&w film, Super 8 camera rental, darkroom access, film lab access, editing room access and $5 donation towards Hive Arts Collective sustainability.
