Natural Indigo Dye Workshop

In this month's Featured Artist workshop you'll get an introduction to the world of indigo—a plant-based dye that has been used for generations in Nigeria and Mali. Learn about how indigo vats are maintained and simple resist dyeing techniques. We will supply each participant with two white bandanas to dye and take home.  

About the Artist:

Jennifer Steverson is an Austin-based artist and writer. She shares her love of African-American craft traditions through her knowledge of indigo textiles and workshops focused on self.
