Art & Activism Wheat Paste Workshop

  • white light studios 900 Vargas Road Austin, TX, 78741 United States (map)

Turn your frustration and anger into art!

Come help us create an artistic response to the current political climate in this FREE event. This is our fourth meeting in an ongoing series where we engage in activism through art making with a strong focus on community and intersectionality. This time, we are taking a hands on approach by making posters and learning how to wheat paste.

If you're interested in participating you can alter one of these blank designs to reflect a personal statement and image that is of concern to you on the theme of "The Body as Contested Space."  You can handwrite your text and trace over an image manually at the workshop, we will also have extras of the original designs if you would like to use one of those. If you're not confident in your art skills we can give you some tracing strategies at the workshop. Feel free to BYOB or snacks to share.
