Crochet for Community Workshop

  • White Light Studio 900 Vargas Road Austin, TX, 78741 United States (map)

Instructor: Christa Christian

In this workshop, we'll be learning the basic techniques and terminology of crocheting. We will cover basic stitches, how to read a pattern, and learn the steps to make our own granny squares. Granny squares are small pieces of crocheted fabric, and they're often stitched together into colorful afghans. We will combine all the squares made in the workshop into a blanket that will be donated to Safe Place Austin.

If anyone has small bits of scrap yarn laying around that they'd like to use, please bring it - granny squares are perfect for this!

SafePlace provides safety for individuals and families affected by domestic violence, and sexual assault and exploitation through campus based prevention and intervention services.
