This week we're going to make a collaborative short film! First, local artists will teach us about the history of women in experimental film through screenings of pieces by Marie Menken, Carolee Schneeman, Maya Deren, and more. We will then learn a process called 16mm direct animation. Each of us will get a film strip to manipulate using paint, scratching, drawing, etc. to create beautiful and rhythmic moving pictures.
As always we will have coffee and treats to fuel your artistic process. Make sure you are here at 2:00 to learn all about the history of women in experimental cinema.
